🌍 Sustainability Week at Tullamore CTC

We were delighted to welcome Cathal Nolan, meteorologist, climate scientist and founder of Ireland’s Weather Channel, to speak with our learners as part of Sustainability Week.

Cathal spoke about climate change, our changing weather patterns and what this could mean for Ireland into the future. It was a really interesting talk and great to hear from someone with such knowledge and passion for the subject.

A big thank you to Seamus, Pauline, Sinead and Jacquie from our Green Team for organising the visit, and to Cathal for taking the time to come in and chat with our learners. 🌱👏

🌈 A big thank you to Lucas from the Midlands Lgbt+ Project for visiting us and giving a really interesting and informative talk to our learners and staff.

Lucas spoke to us about what LGBTQ+ means, the different terminology and pronouns, and how we can all play a part in making our centre a more inclusive and welcoming place.

The talk gave us plenty to think about ahead of Inclusion Week in October.

Thanks again to Lucas for taking the time to educate us, answer our questions and get the conversation started. 🌈

A great day out at the National Ploughing Championships 🚜🌾

We were very lucky to have such a huge event right on our doorstep and to have the opportunity to bring some of our learners along to experience it.

It’s not every day you get the Ploughing so close to home! A great chance to get out of the centre, take in the atmosphere, see everything on offer and enjoy the day together.

A brilliant day out and one we were delighted to be part of! 🙌

We were delighted to welcome Shine to our centre today, Noelene and John took the time to speak with our learners about mental health, wellbeing and the supports available to them.

It was a really valuable opportunity for learners to learn more about Shine, the services they provide, and where they can turn to for support when they need it.

Remember, looking after your mental health is just as important as looking after your physical health.

🎪 Roll up, roll up... Our QQI Level 4 learners have graduated! 🎓

Before the holidays, we celebrated our QQI Level 4 learners with a brilliant circus-themed graduation in the Tullamore Court Hotel.

It was a great night to mark the end of their time with us and everything they have achieved along the way.

We wish them all the very best as they head off on their next journey, whether that’s further education, an apprenticeship, training or employment. We can’t wait to see where life takes them next! ❤️🎪🎓
