We are currently preparing our 2026 shipment to Kosovo . Two of our donors this year were also donors on the first shipment in October 2000.
A measure of the generosity by Irish farm families.

A big thank you to Tullamore Tidy Towns for facilitating a visit by renowned ecologist Ross Macklin.

Ross spoke to our TY environmental students about the challenges facing biodiversity in Ireland and the practical steps we can take to protect our natural environment.

Students then headed to Riverside, where Ross demonstrated a river study, exploring the variety of life found in the water and comparing his findings with a similar study he carried out in Tullamore a number of years ago.

A really interesting and worthwhile hands-on learning experience for our students. Thanks again to Ross and to Tullamore Tidy Towns🌿💧

From the 5th to the 9th of October, our TY German class organised the annual German Week in Tullamore College. This week just follows the anniversary for the “day of German Unity” on the 3rd of October. On Monday, we were excited to welcome our new German Assistant, Chiara, from Augsburg. TY students delivered a presentation through German about Irish culture and did a hurling demonstration too. 1st Year German students participated in a school-wide Treasure Hunt with clues about German language and culture. 2nd Year German students engaged in games to practise their listening skills and vocabulary. 3rd Year students participated in pronunciation battles and Wordle, through German. TY students taking Cultural Studies as well as the SMH class got to learn about German Language and Culture. 5th Year
students took part in a Maths Equation treasure hunt, where they were tested on their maths skills –through German! Our 6th years meanwhile took part in Kaffee und Kuchen, enjoying some baked goodies while practising oral work. At lunch time on Wednesday, 6th Year students had the opportunity to learn an Austrian skill – waltzing. For Junior students, TYs delivered a Blooket Quiz at lunch on Friday.
There was a Whole School Quiz question on this year’s theme: German celebrities. Congratulations to Abbie Lynch for winning the poster competition. Well done to Ms Mc Evoy and the German TY group for
organising such an action-packed German week.
