**An important update from Tuam ETNS**

Tuam ETNS was one of the first schools in the area to establish a page, and over the years it has been a wonderful way for us to share school news, celebrate achievements and keep our wider school community connected.

However, the digital world has changed significantly since we first set up our page. With the increasing availability of artificial intelligence, deepfakes and other technologies that can manipulate or misuse images, we feel it is important to review how we share photographs and videos of children online.

Following careful consideration, the Board of Management has taken the decision that our school social media accounts will now operate on a “faceless” basis.

This means that we will continue to use social media to share school news, events, projects, achievements and the wonderful work taking place in our school, but we will no longer routinely post identifiable photographs or videos of individual children.

We want to be proactive and responsible in protecting our pupils and their digital privacy. While we cannot predict how technology will continue to develop, we can make responsible choices about what we put into the digital world in the first place.

We will continue to celebrate our children and their creativity through photographs of artwork, displays, school projects, performances from a distance, activities and other non-identifying content.

We know this represents a change from what families have been used to, but we believe it is the right decision in today's digital environment.

Our children’s safety, privacy and wellbeing will always come first.💚

Summer Award Assembly was one to remember! 6th class wowed us with a history of Tuam with a modern twist! We also celebrated our first year of participating in Gaelbractach! Tá feabhas ag teacht ar ár scileanna Gaeilge!

May’s assembly was a positive and bright one! Thanks you to Senior Infants for hosting ‘The Huge Bag of Worries’. We now know we can call to you if we need help problem solving or if we have a worry.
