🌞 GOODBYE SUMMER CAMP! 🌞

A huge well done to all our wonderful children on a fantastic summer! We have had so much fun, laughter, kindness and wonderful memories together. 💛

This year, we introduced our very first Willowtree Awards! 🏆 Children received certificates, medals and trophies in recognition of their contributions to Summer Camp — celebrating all the kindness, help, friendship and fun they brought to our days. 🌿✨

We also introduced our very first Spirit Award, and we are delighted to announce that Dylan McGlynn was our inaugural winner! 🏆🎉 Huge congratulations, Dylan — we are so proud of you!

As everyone heads back to school tomorrow, we wish all our children the very best of luck. 📚✏️ A very special good luck to those starting Junior Infants — what an exciting adventure awaits you! 💛

And to all our returning Willowtree children, we are so excited to welcome you back! We can't wait to meet all our new little friends joining us in the Acorns Room. 🌰🍂

🌞 **Happy July from Our Summer Camps!** 🌞

What an incredible month we've had! Our children have made the most of the beautiful summer weather, creating wonderful memories and having so much fun together.

From epic water fights and an unforgettable pool party (where the staff definitely lost the battle! 💦😂) to exciting games of musical chairs, there has been no shortage of fun and laughter! The children have also enjoyed learning new skill with Anna, including knitting and crochet.

We are so lucky to have Ciara, who introduced the children to coding this summer. Thank you, Ciara, for sharing your time, knowledge, and enthusiasm—it has been a fantastic experience for everyone! 💻✨

A huge thank you also to Ciara F and Kerry Football Club for kindly signing a jersey for our rising star, Darragh. It truly made his day! ⭐⚽

The fun has continued outdoors with jumping sacks, three-legged races, plenty of football, and lots of games on the field. The children have also been busy training teacher Laura to become their next superstar goalkeeper – we wish them the very best of luck! 🥅⚽

A special thank you to all our parents for your continued support throughout the summer. Your kindness and encouragement mean so much to us and help make our camps such a wonderful place for the children.

A big thank you also to our wonderful parents for the thoughtful delivery of ice pops – the children were absolutely delighted, and they were the perfect treat on a sunny day! 🍦☀️

We had a wonderful time in our 1–2 year old room exploring our “Seaside Sensory Fun” 🌊theme this month.
🍓 We made delicious fruity yogurt bark, mixing ingredients before popping it into the freezer for a healthy treat
🫧 Lots of giggles during soapy water play outside in the garden
📺 We relaxed while listening to calming beach sounds, bringing the seaside indoors
🧺 Enjoyed a lovely story time picnic outside with our friends.
🐟 Got messy making slimy fish using paint and cornstarch for a fun sticky texture
🐦 Created seagulls using toothbrush painting techniques
🌈 Explored rainbow finger painting, full of colour and creativity
✨ Had fun with “magic mirror” art, painting on tin foil and watching reflections shine through

Our Preschool year has come to an end, and what an incredible year it has been!

This month, we celebrated our wonderful Graduation Ceremony, where we recognised all the amazing achievements and milestones our preschool children have reached throughout the year. We are so proud of each and every one of them and the confidence, friendships, and skills they have developed.

We also enjoyed a fantastic school tour to Sandy Feet Farm. The children had the best day exploring the farm, meeting and feeding the animals, and enjoying lots of outdoor fun. It was a wonderful way to celebrate the end of a busy and exciting year, and the children absolutely loved every minute of it! Thank you too all the Sandy Feet Farm team.

To all of our preschoolers moving on to primary school, we wish you the very best of luck as you begin this exciting new chapter. We know you are ready for your next adventure, and we are so proud of everything you have achieved. Keep smiling, keep learning, and never stop believing in yourselves!

A huge thank you to all of our families for your support throughout the year. It has been a pleasure to watch your children grow and flourish.

Now it's time for Summer Camp! We are looking forward to a summer filled with fun, laughter, outdoor adventures, creative activities, and making wonderful memories together.

The school year is officially over, and summer is finally here! We are so excited for sunny days, ice creams, and spending lots of time playing outside in the fresh air.

We wrapped up our final weeks with a fantastic, high-energy after-school fitness session with Achieve Fitness. The children absolutely smashed it, staying active while having great fun working up a sweat together!

Our after-school children also showed their huge hearts this month by hand-making beautiful keychain gifts for our graduating preschoolers. It was such a thoughtful way to wish them well as they begin their exciting journey to primary school.

Finally, we want to say a huge, heartfelt goodbye to our amazing 6th Class students. You have been absolute superstars, and we are going to miss your energy, laughter, and leadership around the after-school so much. Best of luck as you start secondary school in September—we know you are going to achieve great things!

To all of our families, thank you for a wonderful year. We truly appreciate your continued support and wish you all a safe, fun-filled, and adventurous summer break.

Afterschool Fitness Session

The children had a fantastic session today with Mairead and Erin from Achieve Fitness. They thoroughly enjoyed taking part in a variety of activities, including warm-up stretches, fun games, partner challenges, and learning new movements and skills. The children also had the opportunity to practise and develop their gymnastics skills in a fun and supportive environment.

The session finished with a cool-down activity, allowing everyone to relax and reflect on the exciting activities they had enjoyed. The children were engaged and enthusiastic throughout and had a wonderful time.

A big thank you to Achieve Fitness for coming to work with us today. We look forward to enjoying more fun and active sessions together throughout the summer. ☀️🏃‍♀️🤸‍♂️🏃‍♂️☀️

🌼 Bealtaine / May at Preschool 🌼

What a wonderful and busy month we have had in preschool!

We celebrated Bealtaine with traditional May Pole dancing and Irish music, bringing lots of joy and movement to our days. We also marked Irish Early Childhood Services Week, celebrating the importance of early learning, play and community.

The children enjoyed plenty of creative outdoor experiences, including painting on clingfilm, exploring musical instruments, and taking part in a sensory walk where we discovered different textures, sounds and sights in our environment. We also shared our pets and made a beautiful display in the lobby to show our friends our pets at home.

One of the biggest highlights of the month was watching our chicks hatch! The children were fascinated by the process and were delighted when the chicks returned for a special visit later in the month. 🐣

During Culture Week, we celebrated the rich diversity of our preschool community by learning about the different cultures of our staff and families. We discovered some amazing traditions, stories and customs from around the world, helping us to appreciate and celebrate what makes each family unique.

We also explored the topic of foraging. A special thank you to Anna, who brought in fresh nettles for us. The children helped to make nettle bread, and we all agreed it was absolutely delicious! 🌿🍞

A huge thank you to all our families for supporting the LauraLynn Children's Hospice Superhero Foundation Day. Our superhero day was a fantastic success, filled with fun, kindness and lots of impressive costumes! 🦸‍♀️🦸‍♂️

We were especially grateful for the beautiful sunshine this month. The children made the most of the warm weather with visits to the football field, lots of water play, outdoor games and plenty of opportunities to learn and play in the fresh air. ☀️⚽💦

Thank you to all our families for your continued support. We can't wait to see what adventures June will bring!

May in Afterschool

May got off to a wet and windy start, but that certainly didn't dampen the children's spirits in Afterschool! There was plenty of fun and creativity indoors while we waited for the sunshine to return.

The children enjoyed a variety of arts and crafts activities, with many creating their own unique plushies using materials such as wool, paper, cardboard and tape. These creative experiences encouraged imagination, problem-solving and the development of fine motor skills.

Whenever the weather allowed, we made the most of our outdoor time. The children loved playing football, creating colourful chalk drawings and enjoying music and dancing with their friends in the fresh air.

A particular highlight of the month was watching the eggs hatch in our incubator. The children were fascinated as they observed the chicks emerging and were delighted to welcome the newest additions. It was a wonderful hands-on learning experience and a special opportunity to witness the miracle of new life.

We look forward to more exciting adventures and learning experiences in the weeks ahead!

This month in the Willow Tree, our 1–2 year olds have been exploring a “Construction and Superhero” theme 👷‍♂️🦺
The children engaged in a variety of stimulating, hands-on activities designed to support their early development while encouraging creativity and exploration:
• Playdough exploration with construction toys, supporting fine motor skills and sensory play
• Building with Lego and large construction blocks 🧱 to promote coordination and problem-solving
• Painting and decorating toy houses 🏠, encouraging creativity and self-expression
• Creating and wearing paper plate hard hats 👷‍♀️, fostering imaginative role play
• Designing simple shape road maps 🛣️, introducing early shape recognition and spatial awareness
• Hammer painting 🔨🎨, a fun activity supporting coordination and creative expression
To conclude the month of May, the children enjoyed a wonderful Superhero Day 🦸‍♂️🦸‍♀️, celebrating imagination, confidence, and lots of fun together.

🌼April Highlights - Easter & Spring🌼*
🌷Flower water tray – the toddlers loved splashing and exploring the flowers, developing their sensory skills while learning about nature and springtime.
🎨 Spring flower finger painting – lots of messy fun as the children used their fingers to create colourful flower art, encouraging creativity and self-expression.
🌱 Easter grass tuff tray – a wonderful sensory experience of Easter
🐥 Paper plate Easter chicks – the toddlers enjoyed sticking and decorating their own little chicks, supporting fine motor skills and creativity.
🐰 Painting Easter bunnies – using bright colours and different tools to create their own bunny masterpieces.
🚜 Playdough farm – rolling, squishing, and shaping playdough to explore farm animals footprints and develop hand strength.
🎶 “Hop Hop Little Bunnies” – lots of movement, jumping, and laughter as we sang along together, supporting coordination and listening skills.
🥚 Hatching of the eggs – a very exciting experience where the children watched in wonder as they were waiting for the eggs to hatch, sparking curiosity and conversations.
💛 Our toddlers had a fantastic time learning through play, exploring, creating, and building new skills every day!
