I am delighted to announce that I will be running my weekly Speech and Drama classes for children and young people, from ages 5 right up to 18.
Speech, Drama and Communication classes offer students a unique opportunity to be part of a small class with peers who are of a similar age and share similar interests.
The Drama and Communication syllabus we will be working with is based on the Royal Irish Academy of Music syllabus. This gives students a unique opportunity to perform both as a group and individually.
Group performances are a fantastic way to nurture talent among young people and enhance their skills, confidence, stagecraft and presentation — how they present themselves to others. They involve key aspects of personal development, allowing young people to be nurtured in areas of creative expression that are extremely valuable tools as they go through life.
Because, let’s face it, in every aspect of our young lives, we are presenting and performing every day — at school, at work and beyond. These are therefore extremely valuable classes, and I can’t recommend them highly enough for nurturing drama and communication skills in our young people.
I have seen first-hand the benefits these classes bring to each child over the years, and I am so excited to be offering them to young people in Tralee again, in Coláiste an tSáidh.
