Maryna Petrenko, a talented young chess player and soon-to-be sixth-year student at Coláiste Gleann Lí in Tralee, was celebrating this week after she was part of the Ireland A team that took home the silver medal in the Glorney Cup.

It is with deep sadness that we extend our heartfelt condolences to the Hayes and Casey families on the passing of our much-loved colleague, Edwina.

Edwina was a valued member of our school community whose kindness, warmth and dedication touched the lives of so many. She will be greatly missed by her colleagues, students and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Our thoughts and prayers are with her family, friends and loved ones at this incredibly difficult time.

May she rest in peace.
