On March 1st we planted various seeds in Science. We planted chive, radish, rocket, carrots and Calendula. As you can see we placed the plants in a clear plastic container which acts as a greenhouse. After only one week they have started blooming🌱🥕 We are delighted with our results and we want to show you how simple it is to grow your own fruit and veg!🍓🥔

Last Tuesday the 28th February we visited Spa National School to educate the kids about what a food mile is and how far their food has travelled to get to them! We achieved this by involving them In a food tasting exercise and telling them where that particular price of fruit was from and how far it travelled. We then had a quiz after our PowerPoint presentation and we had small spot prizes which consisted of sweets, after this we planted some coriander plants with the class which they really enjoyed. We showed them two videos about food miles and we also showed them our animation. Lastly we held a poster competition for the 3rd and 4th class with a prize of an Aqua Dome voucher sponsored by the Aqua Dome :) We also had second and third place prizes. We really enjoyed our time out in Spa National School🍓🐝🌎 -onegoodidea
