Chilsplay Childcare Centre has childcare positions available, full-time,part-time and preschool teacher. Applicants will need a FETAC/QQI Level 5/6 and childcare experience. Desired skills are good communication skills, time management, patience, working on own initiative, being able to work as part of a team and most importantly a passion for working with children.

Our expectations of children can be so high when, quite often, they are mirroring what we do. We may not see what they are doing as important, but it is to them. That doesn’t mean that they shouldn't do what we ask, but it does mean that we need to take into consideration what they are doing. We can't expect them to drop everything and respond straight away. Give them warnings for when they need to do something else. Or give them options for when they can do what you are asking. This really is just treating them with the respect we all want.

Today, our sector came together to celebrate the vital work we do and all that we have achieved for early years in the past few years.

Three years ago, 30,000 of us took to the streets of Dublin demanding respect, recognition and investment for our sector.

Since then we have achieved so much for our sector by coming together. But we still have a lot more to do!

All Early Years Educators should be part of the movement that is creating change for early years.
