The response to our planned Advanced Diploma in Perinatal & Maternal Mental Health: Advanced Clinical Practice has been significant.
Thank you to everyone who has contacted us. We have received so many messages that I apologise if I haven’t yet managed to respond to you individually.
Given the level of interest, we are now opening a dedicated Expression of Interest database, with the programme scheduled for 2027.
This programme is being developed in recognition of the complexity of psychological, emotional and relational wellbeing across the perinatal period and the transition to parenthood.
From fertility and conception through pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period, experiences may include infertility and assisted conception, pregnancy loss, birth trauma, perinatal anxiety and depression, previous trauma becoming reactivated, changes in identity and relationships, and challenges within the developing parent–infant relationship.
These experiences can also intersect. Trauma, loss, attachment history, physical health, relationships, social circumstances and experiences of pregnancy and birth can each influence wellbeing during this significant period.
This is why we are actively developing a multidisciplinary Advanced Diploma, bringing together contemporary evidence and professional knowledge across perinatal and maternal mental health, trauma, attachment, loss, psychological wellbeing and the parent–infant relationship.
Our aim is to provide substantive advanced professional development for those seeking a deeper and more integrated understanding of this important area of practice.
Expressions of Interest for 2027 are now open.
