🐑👨⚕️ Meet the Speaker:Warren Schofield MA, VetMB, MRCVS, CertES(Soft Tissue), DipECVS
With over 30 years of experience in the equine field, Warren Schofield is a European Specialist Veterinary Surgeon working in Ireland, with particular expertise in surgery and orthopaedics involving racehorses and high-performance sport horses.
🎓 Teaching & mentoring
Having previously lectured at UCD, Warren continues to bring his passion for education to every aspect of his career, sharing his knowledge and experience with residents, interns, colleagues and horse owners.
🐎 Equine surgery & orthopaedics
Before moving into consultancy-based work, Warren was a partner at Troytown Equine Hospital in Kildare. Throughout his career, he has developed extensive expertise in complex equine surgery and orthopaedics, particularly in the treatment of racing and performance horses.
🔬 Pioneering veterinary surgery
Warren has published numerous papers across a wide range of topics and was the first to perform and report standing internal fixation of fractures in racehorses.
This pioneering technique removed the need for recumbent positioning under general anaesthesia, helping to avoid the risks associated with recovery. The technique is now practised around the world. 🌍
