To celebrate Cork's Lifelong Learning Festival our Local History class are running an event here in Ables this Thursday Morning at 10.30. Below is a little information of the event. Come along and join us for what promises to be a very interesting morning of History, stories and Fun!!!

"History in the Making here at Ables Fet Centre

The history class had a smashing time working on our project for ' Lifelong Learning'. We have a group project that we're working on for the women and children of the 1916 rising. We also managed a cuppa and a birthday celebration!

Learner Profile:

Meet Dieudonne (DK). DK recently received his full level 2 General Learning Major Award. He is a current student of Blackpool Training Centre and is supported in his studies by Ables FET Centre. DK is back in the classroom again this term with an aim of attaining a full General Learning Level 3 Major Award. Well done DK

Learner Profile:
Meet Dave O Regan. David is a 49 year old father, who returned to Education in September 2024. He started his journey by joining classes in English, Communications and Computers. He took to his studies like a duck to water and soon added another 2 classes, maths and listening and speaking to his timetable. Last Tuesday Dave was awarded a full Major General Learning Award at Level 2. He is absolutely delighted and says this certificate is the first of many in his Educational Journey. Dave is back in the classroom and has begun studying mathematics Level3 this term. Very well done Dave, we are all extremely proud of you.

Congratulations to our students who received their QQI certificates yesterday at the CETB Awards in Morrisons Island Campus. It was a great event with over 250 students receiving their awards and represented the various FET Centres across the City. A wonderful afternoon, great atmosphere and sence of pride in all who attended. Here are some photos of the students who studied with us here in Ables. Well done to you all.

On Wednesday 3rd September ABLES FET Centre will hold a registration and information morning for new and current learners. Our staff will be on hand to help anyone who has an interest in our courses to register and apply via fetch from 10am to 1pm.
