This opportunity is aimed at people who did not apply through the CAO and provides a direct entry route to the Certificate in Youth Work and Community Development.
Importantly, students who successfully complete the Certificate will have the opportunity to progress directly into Year 3 of the BA in Youth Work and Community Development, providing a valuable pathway towards completing the full degree.
There will be an open day in St. Mary’s on Friday, 21st August, between 11am and 1pm, and anyone who would like support with the application process, or who just wants to come along and ask questions about the course, is very welcome to meet with me there.
If people are unable to attend on Friday, they are very welcome to contact me directly by email and I will be happy to assist.
Alternatively, applicants can apply themselves using the QR code on the advertisement. Scanning the QR code, or clicking on it if viewing the advertisement electronically, will bring them directly to the relevant webpage.

Delighted to see Minister Hildegarde Naughton this week announce the expansion of the Summer Holiday Meals Pilot Programme for 2026.

This is a really important initiative for young people across the country during the summer holidays.

After a strong first year, the programme is growing significantly. The funding is now up from €500,000 to €600,000 and we are expanding it from 41 to 77 youth services nationwide.

This will mean a hot, substantial meals for young people aged 10–18 from June 2 throughout the summer holidays.

The fact that this programme now reaches all 16 Education and Training Boards is a testament to the hard work of the UBU Your Place Your Space services and everyone involved in delivering it on the ground.

No young person should go hungry during the summer months.

This expansion is exactly the kind of practical, targeted support that makes a real difference to families and communities all across the country.

Minister Naughton joined the Education & Training Boards Ireland conference on yesterday (pictured below with youth officers from accross the country.
