What a fantastic first week! 🎉

As we complete our first week of the new school year, we want to congratulate our students on the wonderful attitude, positivity and enthusiasm they have brought to school each day. Their kindness, respect and readiness to learn have made for a great start to the year.

A special thank you 🙏 to our parents and guardians for the support you continue to provide. The values, manners and resilience shown by our students are a reflection of the strong partnership between home and school, and we are very grateful for that.

We are excited about everything that lies ahead and look forward to a year filled with learning, achievement, opportunity and memorable experiences for all.

Welcome Back! 🎉
A very special welcome back to all of our students as we begin another exciting school year at Old Bawn Community School tomorrow.
We were delighted to welcome our First Year students today and now look forward to seeing our entire school community together once again.
As we start the year, we encourage every student to arrive on time with their school bag.
Whether you are beginning your Junior Cycle journey, preparing for important exam years, or looking forward to your final year with us, this is a fresh start and a chance to achieve your very best.
✅ Full school uniform is required tomorrow.
✅ Please remember that PE uniforms should not be worn.
✅ Books and stationery will be distributed as planned.

🎓 Leaving Certificate Results 2026

A reminder to our Class of 2026 that Leaving Certificate results will be available on the SEC Candidate Self-Service Portal from 10.00am this Friday.
This marks the beginning of the next chapter in your journey. Whether you are progressing to further education, training, employment, an apprenticeship, or exploring new opportunities, we are incredibly proud of all that you have achieved.

For some, the results may be exactly what you hoped for. For others, they may not. If things do not go as planned, remember that one set of results does not define your future. Irish Olympic champion Kellie Harrington faced many challenges and setbacks on her journey to becoming a double Olympic gold medallist. Her success came not only from talent, but from resilience, determination and the courage to keep going when things were difficult.

Whatever your results on Friday, be proud of the effort you have put in. There are many pathways to success, and this is simply the start of the next stage of your journey.

We wish each and every one of you the very best for the future.

We are delighted to welcome our incoming First Years on Thursday, 27th August, and all other students on Friday, 28th August.

✅ Full school uniform is required.
✅ Please note that PE uniforms should not be worn on the first day as PE is not starting until the following week.
✅ Books and stationery will be distributed, so make sure to bring a school bag.

We are excited to see everyone again after a long, sun-filled summer and look forward to another fantastic school year together.
