Your e-file is only as good as the bit you’re working with. 👌
A quality e-file bit should cut efficiently, smoothly and without unnecessary pressure. But even the best professional bits don’t last forever.
In a busy salon, we recommend checking your bits regularly and replacing heavily used removal bits approximately every 6 months – or sooner if needed.
How do you know it’s time?
If your bit starts to feel blunt, takes longer to remove product, or you find yourself applying more pressure than usual, it may be time for a new one.
And remember – hygiene matters just as much as sharpness.
✨ Have a properly cleaned and disinfected bit ready for every client
✨ Clean your used bits after every client – not just at the end of the week
✨ Dry and store them correctly
✨ Never place a wet bit in the efile's handpiece
✨ Check regularly for wear, damage and loss of cutting efficiency
And one more important point: owning an e-file doesn’t mean knowing how to use one.
Correct e-file technique requires proper training and practice. Speed, pressure, direction, bit choice and hand position all matter – both for efficient work and for protecting the natural nail.
