BROS WEEK 2026. Day 4. Tuesday, 19th May 2026.(Part 4) Celebration of the Eucharist and Graduation of the class of 2026 in St. Cronan's Church, Brackenstown. Fr. Richard Sheehy, presiding.
The class of 2026, their families and teachers celebrated mass together to pray for the outgoing 6th year students as they became graduates. The liturgy followed that of Pentecost when the Holy Spirit descended on the disciples, and Jesus instructed them to go out into the world and become His witnesses.
After a beautiful mass, with music provided by Cantor Mrs. Taitt (mother of P.J. class of 2016) and pianist Órla Nic Reamoinn. Mr. Boyle led the graduation ceremony, inviting Mr. Gallagher, Year Head to give the nomination address. Afterwards Mr. Boyle addressed the congregation and made our 6th year students the class of 2026.
Our new graduates were called in groups of 5 to collect their parchment and sign the register.
Then Christopher Cole Powell, Head Boy, delivered the valedictory address and on its closing, received a standing ovation.
The night ended when Fr. Richard gave the final blessing, and the new graduates walked out in procession to applause and cheers, as they exited the church as men for others, graduates of an Edmund Rice Education.
Then the new graduates had 1 final photograph taken.
All the congregation then joined the new graduates in the Parish Centre for a reception hosted by the past and current parents and staff.
Another late and great night as we marked the graduation of a group we will always remember. 🎓🕊
