The Novel Bean as part of the Irish National Bookshop are holding their very first Young Voices evening, a spoken word event for children aged 12 and under. The idea is simple: children come along and share something they've written or something they love: a poem, a short story, a rap, a piece in Irish or English. Everything is welcome, nothing has to be polished, and the audience will be friendly faces: parents, families and fellow young writers. Every Child who takes part will receive a €5 Novel Bean Book Token.
Any child who'd like to perform can register by contacting [email protected] or WhatsApp 0876412785.
Places on the night are limited, so early names are appreciated, by Friday 16th October, 6pm if possible.

Stem Project - 5th Class - Our Place Our Story '
As part of our ‘Our Place, Our Story’ theme, Fifth Class have been exploring our local area — learning about its history and how the places and buildings around us have changed over time.

We have now brought our learning into Science, investigating how homes are heated and how different materials can be used as thermal insulators. The children designed and built their own model homes, thinking carefully about the materials they used and how well they might keep heat inside.

Next, we’ll put their designs to the test with a science experiment to investigate how effective each house is at insulating heat. 🔬🌡️

These images have had a little help from AI to bring our model village to life! 🤖🏘️
