📸 Winners Announced: International High School Students' Photo Festival Exchange 2026 🇮🇪🇯🇵

The UCD Japan is delighted to showcase the winning portfolios from the Irish Section of the 11th International High School Students' Photo Festival Exchange (HIGASHIKAWA Youth Fest.).

This year saw a remarkable 65% increase in participation, with 33 schools from 12 counties submitting entries under the theme "The Charm of Your Region."

Congratulations to:
🥇 Salerno Secondary School, Galway
🥈 Ursuline College, Sligo
🥉 Saint Aloysius School, Cork

The winning Galway team will travel to Higashikawa, Japan this August to represent Ireland alongside students from around the world.

Live the language. Feel the culture.
Not just learning about Japan - experiencing it!

The UCD Centre for Japanese Studies is excited to welcome secondary school students to a one-week immersive summer programme exploring Japanese language and culture through hands-on experiences and interactive learning.

Students will experience:
✨ Japanese cultural workshops
✨ Manga, film, music, food & fashion
✨ Japanese language exchange activities
✨ Mini Sports Day inspired by Japanese school culture
✨ Group “Japan Exploration Project”
✨ Final Summer Festival presentations
No previous Japanese language study is required - complete beginners are welcome!

🌏📸 Launch of the 2026 International High School Students’ Photo Festival Exchange - Irish Section 🇮🇪🇯🇵

We are delighted to announce that the 2026 competition is now open! Secondary schools across Ireland are invited to submit entries for the chance to represent Ireland at the International High School Students’ Photo Festival Exchange in Japan this August.

This exciting initiative promotes creativity, cultural exchange, and global connection through photography. The winning Irish team will travel to Japan to participate in workshops, exhibitions, and intercultural events alongside students from around the world.
