I promise I’ll have something more interesting than a gym selfie next time I decide to ramble on the internet.
Truth is, life’s been fairly boring lately, so this is about as exciting as my camera roll gets.
I’ve definitely been in a work state. Started a new job at Physio Performance, maintaining my online client base, finishing out a few courses, and prepping for my first powerlifting meet.
Working 6–12 and then 5–9 most days has meant some shocking sleep, little free time, and a fair few energy drinks.
The first few weeks were overwhelming. I’ve always been someone who overprescribes myself, take everything on, then figure it out later.
I don’t fully agree with the idea of burnout, but I definitely hit something of a wall lately. Most weekends spent in bed, lack of enjoyment in my hobbies. For the first time since I’ve started training, I’ve not wanted to go to the gym. Then a couple of weeks ago I picked up a back strain that had me 50/50 about even making the meet.
I remembered why I do this in the first place - because I genuinely love training and improving my own physique, and I want to do it with as little stress as possible. And if I don’t fill my own cup, I’m in no position to help others.
That’s what I’ve been up to lately. Finally at a point where I’ve settled into the routine and can start creating content again. It’s taken a bit to find balance, but I’m in a much better rhythm now - and honestly, I relate a lot more to people working long or brutal shifts than I ever did before. Got a few topics I’m actually excited to dive into this time around, instead of just repeating the same old stuff.
So keep an eye out as I’ll be getting back to consistent content from this week.
