We are located on the Northwest Coast of Ireland at Sligo Airport, Strandhill, Co. Sligo - a modern Regional Airport whose facilities comprise of a Terminal Building and ample parking facilities. We are home to quite a selection of old and new aircraft, the Sikorsky S92 Helicopter (Rescue 118) Search and Rescue service for the Northwest region and frequent aerobatic and parachute operations. Strandhill village - a surfing Mecca - is a mere 10 minutes walk and has a good range of accommodation, bars and restaurants. Pilots who trained with Sligo Aero Club have gone on to work for some of the worlds biggest airlines such as Ryanair, Aer Lingus, Stobart Air (Aer Arann) And Emirates. Sligo Aero Club, also known as Sligo Aeronautical Club, (SAC) is an IAA approved Registered Training Facility (RTF) fully approved for private pilot training. We have a simple mission:- to provide local aviation enthusiasts and those planning an Aviation Career with a modern club structure and safe Flight Training. The training provided is in accordance with the IAA (Irish Aviation Authority) and the European JAA (Joint Aviation Authorities) requirements for private pilots. Sligo Aero Club operates a modern and well-maintained fleet of Cessna aircraft (single engine). We will celebrate our 50th anniversary in 2025 and have trained a huge number of pilots since founding in 1975.
