Applications are flooding in for the Postgraduate Diploma in Arts in Special Education at Atlantic Technological University (ATU) St Angelas!

Closing date has been extended to meet demand.

This Department of Education funded Level 9 programme provides teachers with the opportunity to further develop specialist knowledge, inclusive practice, and evidence-based approaches to supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Teachers who meet the eligibility requirements outlined in Department of Education Circular 0046/2026 and who are currently teaching as Special Education Teachers in recognised primary schools, post-primary schools, special classes, or special schools are invited to apply. Applications are also welcomed from eligible teachers working in other recognised special education settings outlined within the circular.

SCHOOL STAFF - Do you have a visually impaired child enrolled, or starting next year? Have you had staff change or is the student changing support staff?

Fรฉach offers free in-person training for schools to support students who are blind or vision impaired. This whole school awareness training comes with the following tools:

-Virtual Reality training giving an immersive visual experience to core support staff
-Age and stage AT/IT Audit and resources toolkit
-School guides and environmental audit form
-Certificate of completion

The training is suitable for Croke Park hours for the whole school or for a smaller group of key staff. It was devised in collaboration with Angel Eyes NI, teachers, SNA's and vision impaired students and complies with NCSE inclusive education framework. ATU St Angelas is offering a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Arts in Special Educational Needs - Autism Teacher Professional Learning Programme in collaboration with the National Council for Special Education (NCSE) for teachers of Autistic students. In accordance with programmes being offered by ATU St Angelas, this programme is accredited by Atlantic Technological University (ATU) and will lead to an award of a Postgraduate Certificate/Diploma in Arts in Special Educational Needs - Autism.
