Over the years it has been an absolute honor and privilege to provide and tutor the percussionist’s for the Sligo Academy of Music. Unbelievable they are having their 25th anniversary this year with a celebratory concert on SAT 12th APRIL in the HAWKSWELL THEATRE and I would love to see as many of you who can make it return. We are so lucky that Keith Kelly has joined our team.

Sligo native Keith, studied at New Park Music College, Dublin, and from there developed a love for studying and teaching both Bass and Guitar.
He has and continues to play and record on the professional scene with some of Ireland's top performers. With numerous TV appearances such as RTE's Late Late Show under his belt, he is no stranger to the TV screens either. An accomplished songwriter and producer, in 2020 Keith founded Independent Record Label, ‘Abandoned Records’. Through his record label he produces and records some of Ireland's young and up and coming talent, from his own recording studio here in Sligo town.

As he says himself :

"Passing on my experience and knowledge to up and coming young Irish talent has become my passion over the years. I have been lucky enough to have learned from some of the best and I look forward to passing on that knowledge through my own teaching".

There’s one proven way to develop the ability to play the bass guitar – and watching endless hours of YouTube videos isn’t it.

Music Generation Sligo in partnership with SSCM (AKA Sligo School of Rock) are proud to launch an exciting new band programme for teens 12+.

The Sligo Rock Project will allow bands or individuals looking to join a band to gain worldwide accreditation in Band performance from Rock School London.

We are looking for pianists, guitarists, bassists, drummers and vocalists with minimum 1 years formal music tuition. Rehearsal will take place in Rumble Rehearsal Studios Mondays from 4:30-6:30pm beginning Mon 19th. Bands will then be in for one hour each.
