Our school year drew to a close with us saying goodbye to a wonderful 6th class pupil on his graduation on Wednesday last. We wish you all the very best on your new chapter Eoghan. We were delighted and honoured to mark Fr. Christy's 40 years of ministry with a special presentation from the puipls, parents and staff on Wednesday during our Grandparents/VIG get together. Our school year drew to a close with the children basking in beautiful summer ☀️ and enjoying the fruits of their hard work in the garden during the past year. Both classes were treated to a feast of the most decilous chips and wedges, home grown within the Carns NS garden! To say they went down a treat is an understatement!!!
Well done to the children and thank you to athe staff for making the Summer party such a success! 🌞🏖️

Our girls team reached the shield final of the Cuman na mBunscol 2 teacher school competition, which took place on Wednesday June 17th in Scarden.
These girls showed superb resilience and determination on the day. Coming up against a very strong and experienced team in Kilrushieighter NS, they played their hearts out to the final whistle. 🏐🏅🏐. We are immensely proud of these girls for taking a leap of faith and deciding to enter the competition this year. A huge thank you to for their superb organization of all competitions this year.

School tour 2026 was a great day! We set off to Jump Street Carrick Entertainment for trampolining and lazer tag adventures! The day didn't disappoint!! A quick stop off to refuel in Supermac's & Papa John's Carrick On Shannon & we ventured onwards for Lough Key Forest & Activity Park for some quality playtime! A tired, yet very satisfied group returned to the school, with lovely memories made, looking forward to next years adventures and tour already! 🚍🍦☀️

We welcomed Finn, from the RNLI Bundoran Lifeboat Station to Carns on Friday, June 12th for a really superb water safety workshop. The children learned very important & practical life saving skills to keep them safe in & close to the water. Many thanks to Finn for facilitating such an informative & worthwhile workshopas part of the UK/Ireland RNLI Education Program.

Sports Day 2026 was a huge success! The rain didn't dampen the spirits of the children of Carns NS! A quick spin in the road & we were ready for a great day of fun!!! Thank you to our two amazing coaches Nathan & Damien from Sligo GAA Coaching & Games for facilitating an amazing day. 🏐🏅🏐

Thank you also to Sean Sherrin for coming to our rescue at such short notice! 🚍 and to the very accomadating members of the Oxfield Community Centre for allowing us use the wonderful facilities & for saving sports day 2026!

The real surprise on the day was the arrival of Kevin from Kevin's Ice Cream Van Sligowith the ice cream! Think the coaches enjoyed the treats more than the kids ! 😊🙌🍦🍨🍦🙌😊
