Ages 10 to 86, with 9 different nationalities this week—what an incredible atmosphere! 🌍✨

At Atlantic School of English and Active Leisure, we are a proper family affair. We thrive under three roofs: our dedicated Junior centre, our Adult centre, and the vast, open sky that frames the rugged beauty of the Wild Atlantic Way here in South West Cork. While our centres are separate to ensure the best experience for every age, they are just a stone’s throw from one another, both perfectly positioned right by the Atlantic.

From scavenger hunts to historical excursions and dramatic coastal adventures, our students have been busy living, learning, and laughing together. It’s the perfect way to forge lifelong friendships from all over the globe.

86 years young this year- Dieter came here many many years ago and has been returning annually since; always choosing to come when wild blackberries are ripe for picking and eating, which he says reminds him of when he was a child. this time he comes with his partner Helene, , his grandson and has been here with his daughter, son and other grandchildren. He’s the most senior student but has by far the broadest mind and most youthful spirit- a great attitude to life. Dieter is using his mind and body in our programmes and is constantly learning and in awe. A huge thanks to Anne and Paul Phillips who host him with great kindness and love! 💕

Classroom views don’t get much better than this! ⛵️ Our adult students are out and about in Schull for . From exploring castles to watching the yachts race, it’s been a day of history, fresh air, and non-stop English conversation. Huge thanks to our Leisure Leader for the ideas and adventures.
