We are absolutely delighted to announce that St. Patrick's Boys National School has been honored with the Platinum Award from Research Ireland! 🏆
​This prestigious recognition celebrates our school’s commitment to excellence in STEM learning and teaching. Out of 337 schools across the country recognised by Research Ireland, we are incredibly proud to be one of only 18 schools nationwide to achieve this top-tier Platinum status.
​A huge thank you to Minister Jerry Buttimer for visiting us and presenting this award. It was a wonderful highlight for our school community.
​Most importantly, a massive well done to our students, staff, and everyone involved in making this achievement possible. Your hard work, curiosity, and passion for STEM education continue to shine!

Thanks to past pupil Jonathan Davis of Body Active for calling in to our school as part of Active Week. Jonathan spoke to the 5th and 6th class boys about fuelling their bodies, the importance of sleep and how exercise can help both their physical and mental health. He also gave the boys tips on how to best fuel themselves before their Sciath na Scol final - which seemed to work very well!! Thanks Jonathan 😁😴🥗🍎

Our Sciath Na Scol footballers had a great win today against a strong team from Scoil Na mBuachailli Clonakilty in the Roinn 1 final in Ahamilla Clonakilty. Despite going behind early on to two early goals, our lads rallied well to lead at half time. Our lads played some great football in the second half to run out convincing winners in the end.
A huge thank you to a Scoil Na mBuachailli for a very sporting game today. Well done to the players led by joint captains Jack and Andrew. Thank you to our coaches Mr Foley and Ms Whelton. Thanks to the fantastic support we got from all the staff, pupils and parents who traveled in huge numbers today. Finally, thank you to the Sciath Na Scol committee for running a super finals day today in Clonakilty. 🏐🏆

We paid our annual trip to the Michael Collins Museum in Ballinoroher, Clonakilty with our 6th class students today. As always, a warm welcome was extended to us by Dolores and Tim Crowley. Tim presented his information and captivating lecture on the life of Michael Collins. The boys also looked at photographs and memorabilia from the War of Idependence and Civil War. We then travelled to the site of the Béal na Bláth Ambush and Kilmichael Ambush.
Tim also generously presented us with copies of the new published ‘Michael Collins News’ for our school library. We want to thank Tim for being so generous with his time and answering lots of questions throughout the day. The Michael Collins Centre trip to the is always one of the highlights of the year 🤩
