Matthew has been a professional chef for over 30 years, originally from New Zealand he has conceded to Skibbereen Ireland where he lives with his wife & two children. As a professional chef managing kitchens, creating cooking classes & encouraging young leaving cert students to become part of hospitality, he decided to go back to collage in 2011 to study Advanced Culinary Arts where he achieved a
distinction in BA Culinary Arts at Cork Institute of Technology. Matthew is a former food writer for the Southern Star, gives him the opportunity to give the public an open knowledge to the hospitality & food industry. Matthew is a regular chef on Irish Television with Virgin Media on Ireland AM
Matthew also won the best business plan award for the innovation award in Cit for Scratch my Pork, starting his own company (The Skibbereen Food Company). "My passion for food still drives me today, but now it is time to pass this knowledge & experience onto everyone, & make sure that food lovers, young people looking for a career's in hospitality & just anyone that wants to learn about cooking food are aware that it is not hard to cook & also to be aware of what we are buying & putting into our bodies with the hope of saving our family food budget.
