What a wonderful Music Camp with a new team of Mighty Musicians!! Here are some pictures from day 3 where the Mighty Musicians are making their second compositions Opus II - in their own typically very creative styles.

A fun and exciting introduction to the magic of great music and of music-making!

The Mighty Musicians Music Camp encourages creativity and a love of music, as your child explores famous music, creates his/her very own mini compositions and has a first introduction to the piano.

At the camp your child will:

Have fun & make friends, Learn key musical concepts,
Discover the magic of composing, Follow her/his imagination,
Experience a first introduction to piano, Discover and be excited by great works of music.

The Mighty Musicians Music Camp is an exciting introduction to Classical music for younger children. The course introduces children to the thrills of famous classical music and uses this music to introduce them to musical concepts in a hands-on, active fashion. They discover the energy of music through an exciting mix of play, active listening, performance, arts & crafts and games.

Concepts covered include:

Rhythm & beat, Musical dynamics, Movement of notes, The musical alphabet.

Carefully selected music is used to bring the kids to understand how music tells a story. The children get acquainted with selected great works of Tchaikovsky, Greig, Beethoven, Copland, Johann Strauss.

The children also have a first introduction to the piano, transferring the concepts understood in the larger works of the great composers to the piano.

All of this through guided/active listening, arts and crafts, movement and play!

Geared towards ages 5/6 years to 8 years of age
The final camp for this summer runs Monday -Thursday 10.30-12.30, 27- 30 July and costs Euro 60 per child. Places limited so book quickly!

The most logical way to learn note values on a summer's day - 'What beat it is Mr Wolf?'. Well done to the kids who firmly knew their minims, crotchets, dotted minims and semi-breves after a few rounds on the grass!

The first week of the Mighty Musicians Music Camp is finished!

I think I can speak for all when I say it was heaps of fun with lots of learning too.
Thanks to all the great kids who participated. I hope you continue to appreciate the drama and calm of classical music under the guidance of your equally great parents!
