Shannon toastmasters held a very inclusive meeting with Quare Clare - LGBTQIA+Clare last wednesday Toastmaster for the evening was Geraldine Lambert.The theme of the meeting was Inclusive and table topics master Karina Murray threw out great topics to our members for the impromptu part of the meeting. Our break had some very tasty cupcakes provided by Quare Clare . After the break we had a speech from a guest Philip who gave the audience a fascinating insight into his experience s of inclusion in the work place in the USA . Patrick Hynes gave an excellent speech on inclusion also . Table topics was won by Monica . General Evaluator Declan Drummey summarised the meeting in a very comprehensive way . Our next meeting is on the first Wednesday in October.

A QUICK REMINDER ABOUT TOMORROW'S EVENT!

We are super excited to partner with Shannon Toastmasters again this year to host a special event on the topic of inclusion 🥳

This is a great introduction into what Toastmasters is all about while listening to some engaging speeches.... and even taking the floor for a short topic if you're feeling brave!

When: Wednesday September 16th, 8pm to 10pm
Where: St. Senans National School, Shannon, Co. Clare

Last weekend Shannon Toastmasters club held a communication skills workshop at the Shannon Literary Festival organised by Aonach na Sionna. Declan drummey gave an inspirational speech on how to create a structured speech . Our President Maura Meaney handed out ribbon s to those participants who took part in the workshop.

Shannon toastmasters had a marvellous meeting last Wednesday evening. Plus the club celebrated it's 30 th year as a Toastmasters club with goodies supplied by the club president Maura Meaney . Toastmaster for the meeting was Ann O Callaghan and co ordinated the meeting in a very professional way . Table topics theme was September and had a varied topic s session from topics about the ploughing championships, returning to a routine after the summer, sun tans , e bikes and the solar eclipse to name a few topics . Best topic on the night went to Dennis Pender . Our break was a delightful one celebrating the 30 th year of Shannon toastmasters with zero proof prosecco and a delicious cake.. thanks Maura.
Declan drummey and Maura meaney both gave superb speeches evaluated by Stephen Kelly and Dennis Pender . GE on the night was Patrick Hynes . Grammarian was Monica who choosed the word Revitalise for word of the day. And Shannon toastmasters left the meeting feeling revitalised after our summer ⛱️🌞 break . Next meeting is on Wednesday 16 September 8 pm in st senans school Shannon.

Shannon Toastmasters are back after a summer break for more fun meetings and a welcoming environment . Have an important presentation or wedding speech and very nervous about it join us on wednesday 02 nd september to get over ones anxiety and fear about speaking in public. We are a supportive and welcoming club and by joining the club one get s access to the toastmasters educational pathways to develop at ones own pace to improve ones speaking and communication skills .
