It was hard luck to our under 17 hurlers today who narrowly missed out to a strong Clonmel team on this outing. With only 5 points between the teams at the final whistle, the lads showed great skill and determination throughout! Well done to all involved.

A huge thank you to The Acres driving range in Coonagh who have kindly sent us vouchers for all of our students as part of their 'Get Kids Into Golf Schools Initiative'. Each voucher entitles one child to 60 free golf balls to use on the driving range at The Acres. Students can then use the vouchers in their own time outside of school hours. Students will be given their vouchers in PE classes. Thanks again to the Acres for providing this fantastic initiative, looking forward to seeing some new Golfers in the school. The Acres

Week 5 of our STEM Club and we were joined by a surprise visitor when Thomas called to offer some woofs of wisdom and encouragement. He checked out all the projects and gave lots of pawsitive feedback. The groups are deep in the research and experimentation stages of Project Squad with Teen-Turn and looking forward to the next few weeks of continuing their projects. Last Thursday, we were delighted to welcome Ryanair PAM Ireland to The Comp to speak with our 6th year LCE and LCA classes about the apprenticeship programme.

It was lovely to have past pupil Amy Madden join the team. Amy completed her Leaving Cert in 2025 and is now in the second year of her apprenticeship. It was great to welcome her back to The Comp and hear about her journey since leaving us.

Thank you to the Ryanair PAM Ireland team for taking the time to visit and share these opportunities with our students.

A challenge for some of our 5th year geographers this week…construct an earthquake resistant structure in class with the materials provided and then test it out with the shake of a table. Plenty of collaboration, teamwork and hands-on learning in this class and a guaranteed way to remember how earthquake proof construction works!

A reminder that our Open Evening is planned for Thursday the 22nd of October Our Deputy Principals have been visiting local primary schools over the past week and have had a great reception from 6th class pupils!
