World-Class Bridge Comes to Dublin This September
The ACBL Dublin Tour makes history as its first international event, with Ireland’s Grand Master Bridge Congress to follow.
For the first time in its history, the American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) will host a tournament outside of North America – and it’s happening right here in Ireland.
The ACBL Dublin Tour will take place at Lansdowne Football Club, Dublin, running from Monday, 1st September to Thursday, 4th September 2025. Players from Ireland, Europe, North America, and beyond are warmly invited to take part.
The arrival of the ACBL marks a major achievement for Ireland on the international Bridge stage, showcasing the country as a global destination for one of the world’s most popular mind sports.
GS Jade Barrett, ranked among the top 30 Bridge players in the United States, commented:
“Ireland has always had a great influence on international Bridge. I was lucky enough to have coached the Irish Junior Bridge Team a number of years ago and, with my Irish roots, I’m delighted to come back here and bring many of my friends over with me.”
Irish Bridge international Thomas Mac Cormac added:
“I play professionally over in the States every year and they are very excited about coming over here. We’ll certainly give them a warm Irish welcome.”
