Goodbye to the year 2020,
A year that started with so much hope and promise.
But soon this promise and hope began to fade,
The Corona Virus Pandemic had arrived.
Now the onus was on each of us to stay safe,
And to keep each other safe.

2020 was a defining year,
Many hearts were broken,
Fear and uncertainty were the order of the day.
Many cancellations and closures.
Social isolation took on a new meaning.
Life as we knew it had changed dramatically.
Yet, in the midst of this devastation,
So many people inspired us with their courageous
And selfless acts.
They gave the worst affected hope and faith in humanity.
