First Steps NTDC ‘First Steps is a full day service offering both Preschool and Afterschools. We are open 51 weeks of the year. We are located in the town of Roscrea.

‘First Steps is a full day community service offering both preschool and afterschool care. We offer affordable childcare to all families and provide government subventions such as the free preschool ecce scheme and National Childcare Scheme. Here in First Steps Community services we aim to provide support and improve the quality and number of childcare places available to the local community. Our

aim is to provide a high level of childcare to the community, while implementing the National framework of Aistear to ensure a broad spectrum of activities and learning opportunities both completed indoors and outdoors. We have a large outdoor area including a basketball court, soft play area and a beautiful sensory garden that children have full access to. We also provide snacks and a nutritional hot food menu freshly made and delivered daily to First Steps. We create an environment that values a “home away from home” experience for the children and this is something of importance to us. While following a curriculum that is built on emerging interests and child led choices, we respect that all children are individuals. We promote independent learning that helps to define all areas of development that are important for helping your children to become school ready.”

Our fees for the service are as follows:
ECCE session (9 to 12) €0
Fulltime (up to 45 hours per week) €155
Part time (up to 25 hours per week) €90
Sessional (up to 18 hours per week) €55
Half Sessional (up to 12 hrs per week) €30. Breakfast/Snacks/Dinner are included in our full time and part time rate, however for any other sessions dinner can be purchased for €8 per week or €1.60 per day.
