On behalf of the Board of Management and staff of Drumboylan NS, we would like to sincerely thank everyone who joined us last Sunday for our Mass and celebration in the school. Thank you to the Leitrim Inn for the lovely food and to the community who kindly brought cakes and refreshments on the day. Thank you to everyone who assisted in the kitchen with serving food and teas/coffees.
A special word of thanks to Fr. Brendan for his endearing words and to the local musicians for lifting the ceremony with their music and singing. Hearing "Schoolyard Days" by Amble was a lovely and heart-warming addition.
Thank you to everyone for sharing their stories and support as we bid a fond farewell to our amazing school, a school that has come through with numbers time and time again in the past. To the parents, pupils and all staff, past and present, who were always a huge support and positive influence on Drumboylan NS, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts. It is a sad time for the community of Drumboylan, where parents, staff and the Board of Management worked tirelessly over the last number of years to boost our enrolment numbers, but unfortunately, all good things must come to an end. We just weren't ready to say goodbye just yet.
We hope that you will carry the fond memories you have of Drumboylan NS with you and look back on the strength of our small community with pride.
Staff of Drumboylan NS.
