DIY lampshade using leftover wallpaper

Here’s how I made the sink skirt for my bathroom.

You need Velcro (ideally the one that has the sticky back otherwise you need double sided tape to adhere it to your sink.

Measure the circumference of the basin and add half that measurement and seam allowance for both sides. Eg if your sink circumference is 50cm, add 25cm and 2.5 x 2 Total 80cm (that is what you cut)
Measure the height of your sink and add 2.5 cm@for top and bottom

Sew up both side seams
Sew gathering stitch along the top of the fabric
Attach Velcro to the gathered edge
Adhere the other piece of Velcro to the sink
Attach the skirt, pin hem and sew.

This is such a renter friendly, sustainable, circular, dare I say trendy, project anyone can do in under an hour. I used fabric from a vintage pair of curtains I bought second hand. If you have any questions let me know below.

My sewing/craft/dumping room turned dressing room 🌸 A budget friendly project. I had the primer and paint already, just needed to buy 1 extra tin, and 1 roll of wallpaper. Total cost €69.99 👌

Everything else I had already. The dressing table I bought over 20 years ago in Greenwich market and the pink cupboard from a second hand shop in Hither Green

I picked up these sconces and light fitting in the charity shop the other day. I’ve been looking for wall lights for the last couple of weeks on fb marketplace and vinted for my bathroom makeover, but with no luck. I was delighted when I saw these. Only €5!! I have a plan, this is just the first stage so come back to see what I do.

Hello there 🌸 I know, it’s been a minute! The summer is fading and I’ve got my “oh no Autumn 🍂 is coming and I have so many house projects still to do” head on! So in my usual style I’m cramming them all into a few days and whilst I’m waiting for paint to dry I’m coming up with more projects. Of course, why not? Need more things to do, right?
Anyhoos here’s one little project that I’ve spent far too long “thinking” about, and decided on a whim to order the foam this week, amongst all the other things, and hoping it will make me get this done! Also sharing it on here unfinished should (hopefully) encourage me to do so too. We shall see. For now, please be so kind as to help my decision fatigue and suggest a fabric? And please don’t encourage me to go out abc but more. Although if you do, we will most likely become firm friends.
