📱 CyberBreak: Creating Healthy Digital Habits at Home
Dear Parents/Guardians,
We would like to make you aware of CyberBreak, an initiative from CyberSafeKids encouraging families to take some time away from their devices and think about how technology fits into family life.
As part of CyberBreak, parents are invited to a free online webinar, “Creating Healthy Digital Habits at Home”, on Wednesday 14 October at 7.30pm via Zoom. We are particularly delighted to see that the webinar will feature former Rochestown pupil Dr Richard Hogan, Family Psychotherapist, in conversation with Alex Cooney, CEO of CyberSafeKids.
The session will look at healthy digital habits within the home and should be particularly useful for parents trying to manage the role that phones, social media, gaming and other technology play in family life.
This fits very well with the work we are doing in school this year around digital wellbeing and our AI-Ready Schools Programme. As technology continues to change, we want to support students and parents in developing a healthy and balanced relationship with it.
Further information on CyberBreak is available here:
https://www.cybersafekids.ie/cyberbreak/
Parents can register for the free webinar here:
https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_joHd8V8GShy4KmjA8y6zCw #/registration
We would encourage parents to take part where possible. It is also a good opportunity to start a conversation at home about our own digital habits and those of our children.

A huge thank you to our entire school community for helping us raise an incredible €2,105 for Marymount Hospice! Marymount Hospice 🥳

Thanks to Ms Lavelle and her 6th year Biology class who did a fantastic job making and selling treat bags, alongside organising staff and student raffles to help raise funds for this very worthy cause. A special thank you to 5th years Eoghan Kenny and Alex McEvoy for organising the student raffle, and to all the local businesses who generously sponsored spot prizes 🙌
Marymount Hospice is always a lovely charity for our school community to support in the first term of each school year, and we are so grateful to everyone who contributed and helped make it such a success. Thank you all for your generosity and support!

A huge congratulations to our TY students who received their Junior Cycle results today! 🎉We are incredibly proud of each and every one of them. Their hard work, dedication and commitment have certainly paid off, and they should be so proud of all they have achieved. To celebrate, we had an ice cream van in school today as a little treat and a well-deserved “well done”!🍦Congratulations to all our TYs on a fantastic achievement!🙌
