Harvesting Time
The children had lots of fun harvesting and finding out what grew in our school garden this year.
We're delighted to find onions 🌰, carrots🥕 🥕 , beetroot, potatoes 🥔 🥔 and turnips!!
We can't wait to see what everyone cooks for our Harvest Lunch on Thursday 😋😋!!

Our Classroom Chefs were busy working hard on Friday, making some delicious homemade blackcurrant cordial, with our own blackcurrants from the school garden! 🍇
The children had great fun getting hands-on, following the steps, doing the maths and discovering how to turn blackcurrants into a tasty treat.
A fantastic mix of teamwork, learning and yummy results! 😋👏

🏛️📚History of Ramelton! 📚🏛️
We enjoyed a wonderful whole-school history walk around our beautiful heritage town of Ramelton today! 🌿🏘️
We were delighted to be joined by Deirdra Friel, who brought the history of Ramelton to life with fascinating stories about the town’s historic buildings, its people and the many famous characters who have connections to our Heritage Town.
We listened and discovered stories and facts about places we pass every day, seeing our local surroundings through new eyes. 👀✨
A huge thank you to Deirdra for sharing her wonderful knowledge and helping us to learn about and appreciate our rich local history and heritage, right on our doorstep. 🏰 ⛪️

🌍🚶‍♀️ Launching our 9th Green Flag! 🌱💚
We are delighted to launch our 9th Green Flag project – Global Citizenship: Travel! 🚲🛴🚶‍♂️
To begin our journey, our children took part in a Walkability Audit around our local roads with An Taisce Green-Schools Travel Officer, Aenghus Kennedy. The children investigated the barriers to walking to school and explored possible solutions to make travelling actively safer and easier.
One of the most notable findings came during our speed checks – cars are travelling too fast on some of our local roads. 🚗💨
Our children would really like to see the speed limit on Tank Road reduced to 30km/h to help make the journey to and from school safer for everyone. 🚸
We are looking forward to continuing our work promoting walking, cycling, scooting and carpooling, while discovering how sustainable travel can make a positive difference to our local community and global issues such as air quality and sustainable development. 🌎💚
A huge thank you to Aenghus for working with us and helping our pupils become active voices for safer, greener travel!

We've started out KRL Code initiative again this year and teachers and children can nominate each other for acts of Kindness- Kemi, Responsibility- Rosie and Listening - Leo.
And just look....how amazing that 2 junior infants, Anton and Adam, were nominated and then awarded a KRL certificate for great listening and being responsible. What a great start to life in Ayr Hill!! Maith sibh!👏👏👏
And well done to Yehor too, for being really kind this week! 😇
