A house so warm it didn't need heating during the winter of 2010!

We visited this 'Passive' or low energy house in Dunboyne County Meath. Many thanks to James Maher, the owner, for showing us around his home and to architect David Moran for talking us through the design decisions and struggles involved in building a house to such a high standard of performance during the beginning of the recession. This was an extremely interesting visit for our students who have been building Passive House constructions in our workshop and now get to see how the principles are implemented in a finished house.
