Joyce Odlum-artist Artist and instructor in oil painting I am an oil painter and have been painting since the late 90's. Term is six weeks, price €120 per term. Places limited.

Having studied commercial design and advertising, I first began painting as a hobby. I am self-taught as an oil painter and with a particular interest in colour and texture, I think I've developed a style that reflects my interest in a broad range of styles, from contemporary to realistic. I began teaching art in 1998 and over the years I have helped many people develop a love and passion for oil

painting. I continue to teach and I prefer to cover a broad subject matter range, from portraiture to sescapes to more contemporary pieces. I use many different techniques from traditional Flemish layering to palette knife and impasto work, teaching with a blend of demonstrations and one-on-one instruction, depending on my students ability and preferences. Currently I am running classes in the Newtownmountkennedy community centre on Tuesday evenings from 7pm to 9pm.
