Milestones & Memories: Senior Cycle Results Day

Senior Cycle programmes give students the practical, real-world skills they need to prepare for life beyond school. Within the Level 1 and Level 2 Programmes there is a very practical, functional, cross curricular based approach where, over the course of the two years, students complete modules in the core subjects communication and literacy, numeracy and personal care as well as modules from chosen electives.

As part of this cross curricular approach our students have written and starred in their own Christmas play, produced workout videos called Down to be Active and gained work experience right here in our community at The Coffee Place in Newtown, Centra Kilcoole, Tesco Ireland and with Newtownmountkennedy Tidy Towns.

This is a a landmark day for inclusion and equality in education. With the introduction of the new Senior Cycle programmes, students with special educational needs are receiving their results alongside those receiving Leaving Certificate results.

Huge congratulations to all our Senior Cycle graduates 🥳🥳

For the first time, students following the Level 1 and Level 2 Senior Cycle Learning Programmes will be receiving their results tomorrow. This is a milestone moment and we are all so incredibly proud of our senior cycle students 👏👏
