Recently completed commission in Ash and Bog oak. The customer wanted the option of playing the harp standing or sitting. Not a fan of individual detachable legs, they often get lost, for one thing. The solution — easily mountable bases with the legs attached with a simple ‘turn-button’ design. The longer legs were 16” and that base could possibly be used as a harp stool.

We had a fabulous afternoon celebrating Culture Night 2025 with Music of Mayo and Gaeilge Chaisleán an Bharraigh as we heard 5 emerging traditional musicians perform new work in our first Club Ceoil session of the season 🪗

The young musicians are Áine Wright, Fiachra Kilkenny Hopkins, Hannah Lyons, Diarmuid Swift and Peter Fox who were accompanied by other talented young artists in our Hub.

It was a real honour to hear this new music ❤️

Club Ceoil is a weekly meet up for young trad musicians in the Linenhall Hub. Facilitated by traditional musician Emer Mayock in association with Music of Mayo the sessions encourage participation, learning of new tunes, playing old favourites and the use of the Irish language is strongly supported. We especially welcome teenagers to the club.
Play music, make friends and use your Irish.

🎶 Centennial Tribute to John McFadden 🎶
This Tuesday, 9th September, marks 100 years since the passing of John McFadden.
We warmly invite young and old alike to gather on the viaduct in Newport at 7pm to play a few tunes in his honour. We will play Queen of the Fair, a McFadden composition & some well-known polkas.
Bring your instruments and your spirit of remembrance as we come together to celebrate his legacy.
