In honour of the legacy of Dolly Parton we encourage all of our parents/carers to read with their children today.

Dolly had a lifetime passion for reading, setting up the Dolly Parton imagination library with the aim of promoting literacy and fostering a love of the written word.

Beyond her legacy as a singer/songwriter/superstar, as educators we will remember the impact she had on the enrichment of many children’s lives throughout the world.

Please let us know in the comments your favourite books to read with your children and help spread the word about the joy of reading!

Our school recently received a fabulous donation of headphones for our computer suite. 🎧 These will be so useful for our children as they play educational games, complete maths activities and develop their ICT skills.

A huge thank you to Emma O’Neill and Action for Children Northern Ireland for your generous donation and for making such a positive difference to our children’s learning and experiences. We really appreciate your support! 💙

It was great to have NICIE in this week as part of our back to school training. Emma and Fiona were fantastic facilitators and as always we were impressed by the dedication, knowledge and level of participation of our staff.

As integrated education leaders it’s beneficial to keep our training up-to-date and to continually strive to learn more.

Emma and Fiona kicked the week off to a great start by spending Monday morning with the staff team at All Children's Integrated Primary School. Thank you all for your enthusiasm and engagement as the school works towards renewing their Excellence in Integrated Education Award.

As we approach September 2026 and the 40th anniversary of All Children’s opening its doors, it’s the perfect time to reflect on our beginnings.

Today we attended ‘Parent Power and the Creation of Integrated Schools’ at the Linen Hall Library, Belfast. It was a very interesting event in which a panel discussed how integrated education came to be, highlighting the determination, courage and vision of the parents who believed Northern Ireland’s children deserved to learn together.

The panel, which included Professor Alan Smith (Mill Strand Integrated Primary School) and Anne Carr (All Children’s Integrated Primary School) shared powerful personal stories about the challenges they faced in establishing integrated schools. Both founding parents discussed the opposition, uncertainty and obstacles they faced in the early days of integration but how the passion of the founding parents of integration prevailed.

As a founding parent and former member of the Board of Governors at All Children’s, Anne spoke passionately about the early days of All Children’s including how we were funded, the risks involved in choosing integration and her hopes for more intentional integrated education in the future.

All Children’s past, current and future was well represented as in attendance were founding parent Gráinne Tobin, who later became a teacher at Shimna Integrated College, Board of Governors members Gill Gleghorn and Ellen McVea former Vice-Principal of Shimna College, All Children’s founding pupil and current staff member/parent Debbie Pascoe and Kevin Lambe, former Principal of Shimna Integrated College.

Seeing All Children’s discussed as part of Northern Ireland’s history reminds us that it is more than a school it’s a community focused on a better future. As we prepare to celebrate our 40th anniversary we would like to take this opportunity to commend the bravery and foresight of the parents that started it all and look forward to seeing what our future holds.

✨ A Wonderful Creative Experience for P5 & P6! ✨🎨

Our P5 and P6 pupils were delighted to take part in an inspiring series of workshops with talented author and illustrator Kieron Black!

Kieron has been commissioned by Newry, Mourne and Down District Council to celebrate the incredible legacy of the much-loved children’s author Martin Waddell. As part of this exciting cross-community project, our pupils joined children from St. Mary’s Primary School to explore their creativity through storytelling and character design.

Over three fun-filled workshops, our P5 and P6 children worked alongside Kieron to create an original story inspired by Martin Waddell’s wonderful books, bringing their imaginations to life by designing their own unique characters. Pupils from the partner school will be creating their own story too!

The excitement doesn’t end there! 🎉 Over the summer, Kieron will illustrate the stories created by both schools and produce beautiful digital books for us to enjoy and share. Printed copies will also be available to purchase on demand.

We are so proud of our young authors and artists and can’t wait to see their finished book! 📖💛
