This choir will focus on close harmony arrangements of classical & sacred music as well as popular songs from the world of stage & screen. Previous experience is a plus. However, the most important requirement is a love & passion for singing. Rehearsals will take place on Tuesday nights in Naas. If you feel this group may be for you, I'd love to hear from you. You can message me here on Facebook or drop me an email at [email protected] to arrange an audition/voice assessment. All the best, Owen

NEW MALE VOICE CHOIR.
Calling all tenor, baritone & bass voices! I am delighted to announce my plans to start a new Male Voice Choir. Singing in 4 to 6 parts, this choir will focus on close harmony arrangements of classical & sacred music as well as popular songs from the world of stage & screen. Previous experience of harmony/choral singing & a basic ability to follow/sight read music is a plus. However, it not essential. The most important requirement is a love & passion for singing. Members will be required to fully commitment to rehearsals & to the learning of music. Dedication, hard work & commitment are key to success! If you feel this new choral group may be for you, I would love to hear from you.
You can contact me here by private message or email me at [email protected] for further details & to arrange an audition/voice assessment. Please feel free to share my post & spread the word. Thank you. Owen 🎼

'EVERYBODY HURTS' performed by THE BIG C CHOIR.
CHRISTMAS APPEAL in aid of Newbridge Cancer Support Group

Seasons greetings to all!
I am delighted to share my vocal arrangement of the classic REM song 'EVERYBODY HURTS' with you. It's performed here by the ladies and gentlemen of THE BIG C CHOIR, a Co. Kildare based fundraising choir who to date have raised over €72,000 for cancer related charities. This songs strong message is so important for us all especially during these challenging times. We are delighted to launch it as a much needed fundraiser for our friends in Newbridge Cancer Support Group. A self-funded group, the love, support & resources they offer to those whose lives have been affected by cancer is incredible & life changing. To donate, please click on the Gofundme link in the video description beneath our video. Please like & share our video around with friends and family. We need your help to reach our goal! Your donation will be greatly appreciated by the group & by those who benefit directly from your kindness. Thank you for listening & for your continued support. Wishing you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and the very best for 2021 ❤️❤️❤️

Yesterday I held my end of term student concerts in the beautiful surroundings for St. Davids COI In Naas. Both junior & senior concerts were just fantastic. Sadly, not all my students were able to sing due to illness & exam pressure. However, the audience still enjoyed 48 super performances. I am incredibly proud of each & everyone of my students. It’s a joy to work with you all - seeing you all up there shining last night gave me so much joy. Many thanks to Rev. Philip and the community in St. Davids for making us feel so welcome once again. Thank you also to all who helped behind-the-scenes on the day. Your help & support was invaluable & allowed everything to run so smoothly. Lastly, thank you to all who came to support us. You’re warm applause & encouragement was just what every performer needed. It really was a very special and memorable day of music making. Here we are performing the closing number of the senior concert ‘You Raise Me Up’. Hope you enjoy

Hi folks, as we approach the end of another busy term at NVA, students past & present have been busy with various shows, recitals & competitions. On the competition front, 1st & 2nd places at the Newpark Musical Festival under 14 vocal went to students Ruby Boland & Sean Aherne. Ruby went on to perform at a special prize winners concert and then to win the overall under 14 vocal & instrumental prize. At the Navan Choral festival, student David O’ Carroll came first in the under 16 vocal solo with Ruby taking 2nd place. At the Kilcoole Music Festival, David O’ Carroll once again came 1st in his vocal competition while Laura Aherne was placed 3rd. Over in Germany, soprano Lisa Dolly won Mennheim’s Got Talent with a stunning performance of Puccini’s
O Mio Babbino Caro. On the musical theatre front, students Gill O Brien, Keelin Kilduff & Rory Dignam all played leading roles in Newbridge Musical Societies production of '9 to 5'. Special mention to Rory who made quite an impact in his first leading role with the society. Louise Moore gave a memorable performance as Maggie Jones in Kilcock Musical & Dramatic Societies production of ‘42nd Street’. Joe Egan played the part of Glen Guglia in Naas Musical Societies production of ‘The Wedding Singer’ & Naomi Cleary took to the stage as Princess Elsa in Kill Musical & Dramatic Societies panto ‘Frozen Solid’. Laura Aherne gave a wonderful performance as Laurie in St. Mary’s production of ‘Oklahoma’. Helen Spring performed ‘Trust the Wind’, her own stunning sold out concert in McAuley Place Naas with Carol Gleeson & Rosin Deady as her guests. Mark Trundle joined the fabulous Rebecca Storm in concert at the Moat Theater Naas and The Big C Choir as guest soloist at their recent fundraising concert. Susan Molloy staged her second sold out solo concert also at McAuley Place. She then joined student Bernard Hennessy as soloists in the popular ‘Follow me up to Carlow’ concert serious at the Seven Oaks in Carlow. These are just a few of this year’s performances and achievements so far. Take a look at the album of pictures below. I am so proud of all my student’s hard work and achievements to date and am very much looking forward to presenting them in two end of term Gala Concerts. The first concert is my junior showcase concert ‘Song in my Heart’ in McAuley Place Naas on Wednesday June 22nd at 7.30pm. The second is my annual senior concert ‘Summer Serenade’ in St. David’s Church of Ireland Naas on Friday 24th June at 7.30pm. I will be post further details of each concert shortly.
