Summer Programme 2026
The first week of our summer programme came to a close with a very creative day of songwriting and animation creation. The rain kept us indoors but it didn't dampen the spirits! Yesterday the students welcomed Carol and Jill her therapy dog from Hearts, Hooves and Paws. They had a wonderful time getting to know Jill, building obstacle courses and doing some mindful grooming. Ms Finneran was reluctant to let Jill go home! The students also received some basic first aid and CPR training from Ms Carroll and finished up with a fun Irish language quiz! Well done on a great week everyone!

Campa Samhraidh - Lá 5
Ar maidin bhí ceardlann popcheol againn le Lisa Ní Mhuirí. Bhí píosa spraoi acu ag déanamh aistriúcháin, ag canadh agus ag damhsa le chéile. Um tráthnóna chuamar go dtí an Newgrange i gcomhair bia. Bhí biachlár agus seribhís trí Ghaeilge againn. Míle buíochas Amy, Ava agus Michael! Bhain gach duine taitneamh as, go háirithe an uachtar reoite! Fuair na cailíní teastas agus féiríní freisin.

This morning we had a pop music workshop with Lisa Ní Mhuirí. The students had great fun, translating, singing and dancing together! This afternoon we went to the Newgrange for food. The menu and service was through Irish. Thanks a million Amy, Ava and Michael. Everyone enjoyed it, especially the ice-cream! The girls got certificates and some small gifts also!

Campa Samhraidh- Lá 4.

Inniu thosaíomar le seisiún ióga as Gaeilge! Ciarán:Óga Yoga a bhí linn. Forbraíonn Óga Yoga folláine agus teacht aniar i bpáistí le linn do imní agus teannas a laghdú. Bhí píosa spraoi ag na daltaí, chomh maith le 'tumadh fuaime'. Bhí ceardlann Hama againn ansin agus bhí gach duine chomh cruthaitheach arís!
Today we started with a yoga session through Irish, with Ciarán from Óga Yoga. Óga Yoga develops wellbeing and resilience in children and decreases worry and tension. The students had some fun, and also experienced a sound bath. Then we had a Hama bead workshop, with great creativity on display again!

Summer Programme 2026
Our summer project got off to a great start this week with the students enjoying a wide variety of activities aimed at building confidence and connections and of course ... having fun! They were introduced to the world of coding, got to make beautiful friendship bracelets, painted and hung bird nesting boxes and got active on the trampolines. They also enjoyed a visit to Martry Mill to try their hands at baking some very tasty brown bread from flour milled as they collected it in their bowls. A true lesson in the concept of 'farm to fork'!

Campa Samhraidh - Lá 3
Thugamar cuairt ar an bpictiúrlann ar maidin. Bhí na cailíní ar bís scannán Éireannach 'Wolfwalkers' a fheiceáil. Rinneadh 'Wolfwalkers' ag an gcomhlacht Éireannach Cartoon Saloon atá lonnaithe i gCill Chainnigh. Ansin d'imríomar cluiche cartaí 'níos mó nó níos lú', arís chonaiceamar comótras idir na daltaí!

This morning we visited the cinema and the girls were excited to see the Irish movie 'Wolfwalkers'. It was made by Irish company Cartoon Saloon, that's based in Kilkenny! Then we played the card game 'higher or lower', great competition between the students again!

Bhí lá álainn againn arís inniu. Thosaíomar le ceardlann braisléid, bhí gach duine that a bheith cruthaitheach! Dathanna agus teachtaireacht fabhlach ag gach uile duine! Ansin bhí Mr. Gallagher linn do sheisiún spóirt. Bhí sé iontach ar fad bheith taobh amuigh san aer úr chun cluiche corr agus araile a dhéanamh leis. Um thráthnóna bhí Tráth na gCeist againn, bhí gach éinne an- iomaíoch! Míle buíochas le Leon's as ucht na duaiseanna áille!

We had a lovely day again today. We started with a bracelet workshop, everyone was so creative! Fabulous colours and messages all round! Then we had Mr. Gallagher in with us for a sports session. It was great to be out in the fresh air to play rounders and other games. In the afternoon we had a quiz, everyone was very competitive. Many thanks to Leon's for the fabulous prizes.

Bhí lá iontach againn dár gcéad lá de Champa Samhraidh Loreto inniu. Bhí cluichí againn ar maidin agus chuir gach duine aithne ar a chéile. Bhí Amy ó Bright Stars Stage School linn
do cheardlann damhsa agus rinne na scoláirí damhsa iontach do cheol, leagan i ngaeilge le Olivia Rodrigo. Bhain siad an-sult as an gceardlann. Míle buíochas le Bright Stars Stage
School as ucht an cheardlann as gaeilge seo a chuir ar fáil dúinn. Beidh campa acu do dhéagóirí ‘Camping with the Brightest Stars’ ón 6ú-10ú Iúil san Uaimh agus molaimid seo
daoibh. Um thrathnóna bhí Mr. Farrell linn do sheisiún spóirt. Bhí an-spraoi againn agfeabhsú ár scileanna peile lena chéile. Míle buíochas le Mr. Farrell. Táimid ag súil go mór le
níos mó spraoi trí ghaeilge amárach.
We had an excellent first day of our Campa Samhraidh Loreto, today. We began with games this morning and got to know one another. Amy from Bright Stars Stage School joined us for
a dance workshop. Students danced to an Irish language version of music by Olivia Rodrigo and really enjoyed themselves. We would like to thank Bright Stars Stageschool for
facilitating this workshop as gaeilge, for us. Bright Stars are running a camp for teens ‘Camping with the Brightest Stars’, on 6-10th July in Navan and we highly recommend this
for the girls. In the afternoon Mr. Farrell joined us for an active GAA session. Everyone had a ball improving their gaelic football skills together. A big thank you to Mr. Farrell. We are really
looking forward to more fun through Irish tomorrow.

Update from Loreto Sister school in Aweil
Dear Parents/Guardians,
As you know the aim of our "Mission Week" every year is to help fundraise for our sister Loreto schools in South Sudan to support the important work being carried out by Sr Orla and all those who work with her. We are extremely grateful for the work that the students put into Mission Week and the Sisters in Rumbek and Aweil are also very thankful as the money usually goes a long way for them in South Sudan.
We continue to ask you, and all within our school communities, to keep Sr Orla and the wonderful work taking place in Aweil in your thoughts and prayers. May Orla be blessed with the health, resources, strength, and safety needed to continue this important mission and to see its goals come to fruition.
