When our voice is not opperating at full capacity. We might need to take a look at whats going on for you in your daily, weekly schedule. Things like stress, routines, health & relationships can contribute to your overall vocal load in any particular week. And although vocal rest can be beneficial, making adjustments to other parts of your life can really help your vocal recovery.

Get on the exposure ladder! (Or Kareoke stage🤭)..Singing in public is such a vulnerable thing to do. Singing can be a great medium for self growth. You don't need to be a pro to enjoy a good sing song.

Fabulous atmostphere at the Kareoke night on Wednesday night. So many people singing for the absolute craic, singing to heal, singing for connection. And so much talent in one room! And they have a fabulous host who was super kind & encouraging to everyone who got up. Would 100% reccommend popping along & giving it a go 🙌🏽😁

With temperatures hitting the 30s around Ireland this week. I thought id do a post on hydration. Prevention is key, sip sip sip water throughout the day to avoid dry vocal folds. Keep your body temperature down by using cold compresses under your a**e and sides of neck, and of course, wear hats and suncream. Mind yourselves out there!

Take this as your reminder to write, sing, play, create. No expectations, judgement or pressure. Just write because you love it. This is short clip of an original song I've been working on. Life is busy but I'm carving out small bits of time here and there to do something that makes me feel really good. You can do the same 🖤

A simplified version of the long scale. Great for stretching upwards across your range. Lip trill is a good option but try a different SOVT like the puffy cheek if you can't manage it.

Using improvisation to explore all the different textures in your voice can strenghten your technique, help you discover your full ability, help you get to know your voice better, and build confidence in yourself.

Knowledge is power when it comes to singing. Not taking action to understand how your voice works is like having a TV (or keyboard etc) and not ever learning how to use all the settings. Never unlocking its full potential. If you ever thought you didn't want to 'sound trained', maybe thats because whoever you heard that had training, were at the beginner stages of understanding their voice, or maybe they didn't make you FEEL anything. Voice training empowers you to sing how YOU WANT!
