✨ EXCITING NEWS ✨

I am incredibly honoured and excited to announce that Sarah Kavanagh School of Speech & Drama has been invited to become an official Exam Partner of The Lir, National Academy for the Dramatic Arts at Trinity College Dublin, for the upcoming academic year 2026–2027.

The Lir is preparing to launch a brand-new actor training curriculum and graded Speech & Drama examinations for young people, launching through The Lir Youth Academy from September 2026.

I am delighted that our school has been selected as one of a limited number of partner schools to integrate this new training framework into our classes and offer our students the opportunity to undertake graded Speech & Drama examinations through The Lir Academy at Trinity College Dublin.

This is such an exciting new chapter for our school and am incredibly proud and honoured to have been given this opportunity. I am so looking forward to getting started and bringing this exciting new programme to our students. 🎭✨

Here’s to new opportunities, new experiences and continuing to nurture the next generation of confident, creative performers.

Looking back on the parent feedback from our camp this year, I couldn’t be more grateful. It is a dream to inspire, teach and support your children as they develop their drama skills and confidence and messages like these really do mean the world to me.

And just like that… our final day of Drama & Film Camp! 🎬🎭

What an amazing week. A real dream come true to spend the week working with all your fabulous children. We’ve had so much fun creating, performing, filming, laughing and bringing their ideas to life. 💛

I’m so proud of everything they’ve created this week and it’s been lovely watching their confidence grow, while hopefully growing their love and knowledge of drama along the way too.

Parents, you should all have received a little sample of the films from the week, and I hope you enjoy watching them as much as we enjoyed making them! 🎥

Thank you for trusting me with your wonderful children and making this week so special.

Day 4 of our Drama & Film Camp 🎬🎭

Our juniors explored physicality and gross motor movement, using their bodies to show different environments, emotions and characters. From the way we move to the way we take up space, they discovered just how much we can communicate without saying a word! ✨

Our seniors took their storytelling skills even further, working on effective storytelling, script planning and writing, while developing their characters and thinking about how to bring them to life on screen. And of course, there was plenty of filmmaking too, today we introduced stop motion! 🎥
