Ballycane Preschool

The children have embraced the season Spring in a big way. We went digging for worms and made our own Wormery for our classroom. The children displayed their green fingers through planting, strawberries, peas and Sunflowers 🌻. The boys and girls love checking every morning to see if the seeds have sprouted and are waiting patiently for the first 🍓 to appear.

The teachers and the children really embraced world book day. We brought our favourite books in for show-n-tell. The teachers gave a little performance of their Favourite story "The Tiger who came to Tea". Which was throughly enjoyed by all the children.

Big thanks to chef Debbie who sent us all home with a belly full of 🥞 🥞 🥞. The children learnt what ingredients were needed to make their pancakes and their were offered the opportunity to explore what toppings they preferred at the pancake station. Everyone displayed great independence 👏 through their choices.

Love ❤ was definitely in the air this week in our Classroom. The Ballycane Preschoolers explored many different ways to show love to each other.Happy Valentines 💝 day.

We've been enjoying getting into the 🎄 Christmas spirit in our classroom for the month of December. We used our Christmas theme to learn all about posting letters to the big man 🎅 and we even managed to get him to and visit us. He had some great chats with the boys and girls and told us all we were on the nice list. Now that we have come to the end of 2022, we wish all our 👪 Families a happy Christmas and look forward to seeing all the boys and girls in the New Year 2023.

We went camping 🏕 in Ballycane Preschool. We had great fun exploring the theme, camping. The children made themselves binoculars so they could find worms and crinkets. After a long day of camping the children enjoyed some warm hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows 😋 but not before they made their Tent.

Happy Halloween 🎃 to all our lovely children and their 👪 families. Our first term was full of learning, laughter and building friendships. We look forward to rest of the year with out fabulous Ballycan Preschoolers.

We have enjoyed getting to know our new Preschoolers. The children have spent the last few weeks exploring their new classroom and developing new friendships. We have focused on themes , All about me and My Family. This allows the children the opportunity to settle into their new environment and enjoy learning all about their new friends and their families.

This week we supported Barnardos "The Big Toddle" event. The kind and generous parents of Ballycane raised over €500 for Barnardos. The children and Teachers had a great week of fun challenges. We finished our week with a half mile walk and we also decided to dress as our own chosen superhero. Even though we were very active the children still remembered to celebrate their brillant Daddies and chose a superhero they felt represented their Daddies best to colour. Happy Fathers day to all the amazing Dadies today.

We had our own live Animal farm in our classroom today. Bell the hen came to say hello this morning. The children said she was so soft and learnt the red piece on top of her head is called the cone. After lunch we got to meet a beautiful calf that was only 8 days old. The children helped Paul to give her milk because her Mother was too sick and couldn't feed her. A great day was had by us all.

What fun the Ballcane preschoolers had exploring the solar system theme. We created our own telescope 🔭 to find the planets in space. The children were very interested in Mars as it is the planet that has a volcano 🌋 but many liked our dwarf planet the best, Pluto.
