We are located in brand new state-of-the-art facilities on the Lynn Road N91 W6RP, serving a catchment area of Mullingar and it's surroundings as well as greater Westmeath. We are a co-educational primary school catering for boys and girls from Naíonáin Shóisearacha (Junior Infants) to Rang a Sé (6th Class). We are child-centred, affectionate, caring & nurturing. for your child. Families do not need to speak or understand Irish to attend our school however, as per our enrolment policy, priority will be given to those that do. We have a wide variety of nationalities attending our school many of whom are now fluent in three or more languages, including Irish & English. We do not expect parents to complete homework in Irish with their children, we give the option to families who wish to have the choice. We work passionately to ensure very high standards and fluency in both Irish and English in all our pupils. Our pupils are bilingual, trilingual and often more. Gaelscoil an Choillín is an inter-denominational primary school. We prepare students in the Catholic faith for their sacraments as well as students in the Protestant faith in the same way as the denominational schools in Mullingar. With an Interdenominational Ethos, we enrol families from all faiths as well as families who choose not to follow a particular faith. We do not discriminate in any way. We do not ask families to list their faith on any form, it is your choice to share that information with us. We are very respectful of the wishes and circumstance of each family. Each family and the happiness of each and every pupil is very important to us. All pupils are treated equally while also ensuring that their individual needs are catered for too. Enrolment is online and is quick and easy to complete. In line with current GDPR guidelines, we only ask for your child's name and date of birth as well as your contact details, etc. Upon enrolment we will collect all other relevant information from you including any existing educational/psychological/medical reports etc. be eligible to start in Junior Infants, your child must be at least 4yrs old on the 31st August in the year for which you are applying.
