We made a carrot/veg soup today.
The children were very busy peeling and slicing different vegetables.
At one stage the table was empty because everyone went to get a tissue for their eyes. Must have been a strong onion;) 🧅
If the veg fell on the floor, Maggie asked the child to just wash it in the sink before adding to the pot. At the end of it we found out that children took it seriously and washed the veg with soap;) it still tasted delicious at lunch time!

We had our sports day yesterday which supports holistic development by building fundamental motor skills, boosting social interaction, and fostering early confidence. Through active play children learned body awareness, teamwork, and emotional resilience in a joyful, supportive environment.
We had a water fight after to cool down

We put on our high vis jackets and went for a nature walk in Clonkill. We had a race running up the hill (we were fairly out of breath) and played tag on Astro. Afterwards, we came back for more fun in the playschool.
Nature walks offers significant benefits, enhancing physical health through improved motor skills and fostering cognitive development by stimulating curiosity and creativity. These walks improve emotional well-being by reducing stress and promote social skills through shared exploration.

This was a very busy morning!
The children were working really hard peeling oranges and making delicious juice.
We also made our own pizza!!! We used dried yeast and watched the dough grow and then made margherita pizzas.
Unfortunately there are no photos of the end result as we ate all 4 pizzas;)

The children love messy play and painting so we combined them both. On Monday we explored print painting. Today, we painted using paint blocks and we loved listening to the bubble wrap popping.
Key benefits:
- sensory exploration
- motor skill development
- cognitive growth
- social skills development
- creativity

The volcano is leaking
the children were experimenting with mud and water today. To turn water into lava we added a few drops of red paint.
"Quick lets fix it" were the commands when lava was changing the course of its flow
AG the end of the game lava turned into lava cow's poo;)

Some of our babies and action men were hurt and we had to make them feel better. We practiced putting on different dressings and plasters.
At circle time Maggie showed children our first aid box and what was inside of it. We also looked at the defibrillator outside of playschool and discussed what it is used for.
