What is cryptocurrency?
Cryptocurrency is a form of payment that can be exchanged online for goods and services. Unlike paper money it can not be produced at will. The only way it can be created is by a process called Mining.
Cryptocurrencies work using a technology called blockchain. Blockchain is a decentralized technology spread across many computers that manages and records transactions. Part of the appeal of this technology is its security and the fact that it is not owned by any government.

The HSE was a victim of a ransomware attack by a well known Russian crime organisation earlier this week.
Ransomware is a malicious piece of software that holds onto information and the only way to get it released is by paying the ransom.
The ransom is rumoured to be €9,000.000 paid in Bitcoin with a timeframe of 24 hours to be paid in Bitcoin is a non centralised cryptocurrency that can’t be traced.
The government has responded by saying the ransom will not be payed.

May is Mental Health awareness month so I thought I would spread some mental health awareness with this post.
The pandemic has been tough on us all. We have all felt it’s effects. It was where I found both peace and suffering. Firstly, I was made permanent in a dream job which I couldn’t be happier with but on the other side I also lost a family member to su***de. It happened when the lock downs first hit. No way to attend the funeral and only zoom calls with family I couldn’t hold. I’m not going to sugar coat it - it was tough! Su***de leaves a loneliness that continues to hurt.
If you ever feel worthless just know that you are worth something to someone, even if that someone is yourself. You need to fight to get through the difficult times and these are very difficult times for us all. I have been through some difficult times and one thing I have learned is that they do pass.
I wanted to create some mental health awareness by telling a small part of my story. But we all have a story to tell and we need to appreciate that the battle with ourselves is one we all share and we must understand that one persons battle is no greater or smaller than the next.

First certificate achieved from Middleton, Centre for Autism. The course runs from mid April to the end of May and the trainers have a wealth of knowledge in the area. Highly recommend checking out the website at www.middletownautism.com if you are looking to expand your knowledge on Autism.
