We are a registered charity which aims to connect non profit organisations and people to create volunteering opportunities for the benefit of communities and individuals. This programme is designed to counter disadvantage and to promote equality and social and economic inclusion. The programme works with unemployed people, older people, young people, one parent families, people with disabilities, low income families, travellers and volunteers. The LCDP Programme, which encourages partnership with social inclusion groups, agencies and communities, has four main goals:
•To promote awareness, knowledge and uptake of a wide range of statutory, voluntary and community services.
•To increase access to formal and informal educational, recreational and cultural development activities and resources.
•To increase the work readiness of people to enter the labour market.
•To promote engagement with policy, practice and decision-making processes on matters affecting local communities
•Volunteer Laois staff will contact all volunteers and organisations within 24 hours of online registration.
