Rain, Hail, or Shine: St. Paul’s Conquers the Cycle Against Su***de Bikeathon!
What a day! Not even the Irish weather could dampen the spirits of our incredible school community. Despite the persistent rain, our annual Cycle Against Su***de Bikeathon was a massive success, proving once again that when it comes to supporting mental health awareness, St. Paul’s is unstoppable.
A huge well done to all of our students and staff who took to the saddle. It was fantastic to see our regular cyclists leading the pack, and equally wonderful to welcome so many new faces to the event. Your energy, determination, and consistent support mean the world to us.
An event of this scale takes a village, and we are incredibly fortunate to have the backing of some amazing local partners, volunteers, and sponsors. We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who helped us push through the hard slog:
Our Principal, Brian Bergin: A special thank you for your continuous support and leadership. We are incredibly grateful to Mr. Bergin for always believing in the work and mission of our Headstrong Ambassadors and our Cycle Against Su***de fundraisers.
Kildare Partnership: A massive thank you for your continuous support year on year. We truly appreciate your ongoing belief in this bikeathon and its mission.
Monasterevin Garda Síochána: Thank you for consistently keeping our students safe as they departed and returned to St. Paul’s.
The Order of Malta: We deeply appreciate your voluntary care, reassurance, and medical support throughout the day.
Barrow Blueway Bike Hire: We are extremely grateful for your generous donation of cycling helmets, ensuring our participants were safe on the road.
Mr. Hoey & Our TY Students: A brilliant team effort! Thank you for working hard behind the scenes to ensure our school bicycles were safe, roadworthy, and ready for those who needed them.
Our Dedicated Staff Drivers: who looked after logistics on the day, driving and dropping our Headstrong Ambassadors to the various blind spots along the route to ensure everyone's safety and well-being.
Our Wonderful Parents: To the parents who went that extra mile to volunteer their time, thank you. Your support is what makes this event both safe and successful year after year.
Mr. Whizz Ice Cream Hire: Rain, hail, or snow, ice cream is always a good idea! Thank you for bringing so many smiles to some very tired (and damp!) faces at the finish line.
Thank you to everyone who cycled, cheered, and volunteered. Together, we sent a powerful message that it’s OK not to feel OK, and it’s absolutely OK to ask for help.
